- Cocori cocori… Its already morning and the crows are disturbing the morning peace of the ghetto. Finally i got to sleep, not wary of waking up late i have no job to go to and no school too i cannot afford. Well the past day has been a long one and evidently you can realise it has spilled to the early hours of this new one. Tucking myself in my ragged sheets, i promised myself that one more last tweet and one last video and i will sleep. For some reason i just can’t keep the promise. After a couple of videos i realise they still move me to tears. This is a story of a nation regaining that human bond which has built and sustained empires. I remember from years back in my history class they told us its called nationalism. In all the peoples of the world who have successfully fought against tyranny and dictatorship it is nationalism that has given them the resolve to go on against odds uncounted. I do not curse the gods for having missed the euphoric nationalism that characterized the 1980 independence for i was born a decade later. But thank God today i have realised true nationalism. An astounding victory for the citizens it was after braving one of the darkest and dreary days in living memory for those of us who were born way after the war. However which ended in triumph and strengthened our belief in a living God. We fought the devil and we won. We had brought nothing to defend ourselves with against the most terrifying armed state repressive agents, the dreaded riot police and the shadowy secret agents we knew were lurking in the shadows but we had our colourful flags, bibles and wooden crosses. Well versed with a history of how this regime works, we came with little hope in our hearts expecting the worst. As the day progressed songs sung prayers offered we were boldened and we knew victory was certain. The regime frustrated us and tried to keep us waiting and restless so as to provoke us into violence we remained resolute, dignified and showed them we might not account for much economically but we have unbreakable spirits and we are a peace loving lot. Seconds dragged into minutes and minutes dragged into hours but together we stood. Those who had not made it to the court kept on trickling and the crowd swelled and in one unison voice we lifted our supplications to the Almighty. I had never felt the power of prayer, neither had i ever felt the power of a people joined in a struggle by a common heritage. In all truth and honest as a nation the only things that threaten to divide us on racial, tribalistic and religious lines are our leaders, the same leaders who have failed us time and time again. We will not let them win, we will unite, all the colours of the land bound together by the promises of this flag and our sacred honour as we fought side by side. As a gift for braving the cold and darkness our prayers were answered Pastor Evan was freed because the state had erred by arresting him. I could not hold back my tears, it was victory against despotism. Yes the first battle is won but the journey continues and many hardships and uncertainties may lay ahead for us, but nothing will ever beat us again if we stand together with an abiding trust in our Maker. For the first time i realised the meaning and importance of the phrase, “alone i can go fast but together we can go far”. True as citizens we have gone far and this will be one of those days that will forever be imprinted in the minds of our people scattered in different cities and villages of the world, all those who call Zimbabwe their home and this flag their flag. I tweeted my last tweet wiped a tear and a proud Zimbabwean finally i can sleep no longer haunted by the ghosts of inaction and fear but spurred on and awakened by the realisation that the regime is not invincible. It is an owl and it has no horns, izizi harina nyanga. By Tynaxhe

Keep mentally strong its just a mere speculation. Our prayers and thoughts are with you in this torrid time. God bless
- Wht a shame for the pastor to be arrested for exercising his right as a citizen of this nation. But he shouldn’t despair, the journey has began & it takes brave man like him to provide direction. To the family, they should keep heart & faith in him for his struggle will forever be cherished by fellow citizens

- The anger of the Lord shall be upon this government! The struggle will continue
- People Power is amazing!
- May the God be with our Pastor Evan, the anointed Moses sent to Zimbabwe.
- A New Hero’s Power
- History has been made in Zimbabwe today. All Human Rights Lawyers have decided to represent Pastor Evan Mawarire, one client with more than 100 lawyers just to show solidarity.
- We give praise that he has been released, that man gives me hope for a better Zimbabwe
- Lam 3:21-3 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
- Hello Pastor E, I am one of the people who had given up on our country. . . . But you have renewed hope that things can and will one day be better. Be strong! You have been chosen for this and you and your family are in our prayers. MaiMawarire, I know you are scared, but I hope you are also proud of your husband. He is truly 1 in a million, or rather 1 in 14 million.
- Tell him #TonySaid: They can arrest you but they can not arrest the movement. They can detain you but they can not detain the idea. They can twist and manipulate the truth but they can not twist and manipulate God. They can persecute the poor of the land in the darkness but God the creator of all is not fooled by what happens in the darkness because he is the light of the world. EVAN, you’re like the biblical Samuel, Amos, Elijah who were sent by God to rebuke those in authority whenever they misused office no matter the outcome. Woe to those that proclaim to be men of God yet they keep to safeguard their supply of tithes and offerings. Because Evan has taken head to the instructions of God..he will never leave nor forsake him. He will be with him. He will be his light in times of darkness. And I, I Tony Tendai will be praying for him. Yours in Christ and yours for Zimbabwe, @tonytendai
- Pastor Evan = Moses. Take us out of Egypt.
- Let the police release Mawarire. If our child asked for bread then you give him a stone, what kind of a father is this? People who are asking for a better Zimbabwe are being arrested. Is it a crime to demonstrate? Is it not constitutional?
- Pastor E Thank you for being brave! We are praying for you. #Taneta! – Carol
- Praying for Pastor E. They can break our bones but never our bodies. We are angry and it is what it is. We see what they are doing. It’s their old trick of diverting our focus on issues on the ground. We are tired!
- I declare that he is a free man. In Jesus name I am with him in my prayers. He is just standing up for injustice but the wicked men are trying to shut him up.
- Nyika yaenda vanhu takatarisa no industry, no jobs. We can’t survive without jobs in which way to survive?
- Pastor E and family we have been in prison all along so it’s not a new thing. Our beloved friend and pastor is isolated from us but we pray that as the Holy Spirit delivered apostle Paul from the hands of the politicians may He delivery Pastor E. Hebrews 13vs7 Remember the Lord said none should touch his anointed ones. We are prepared for these earthly sufferings. We are martyrs.
- Pastor E, continue to stand for justice, fairness and freedoms of the masses. We are with you in our prayers. May the Lord God of heaven continue to give you courage and spiritual support.
- Pastor you are the light to many. You must always shine. Your action is Godly because you’re not violent, but on point of LOVING #ThisFlag. The so called freedom fighters once under went this, though their incarceration benefited them a lot in education, etc. Today’s imprisonment has no education at all. Zimbabweans need better lives.
- We are solidly behind you. Your persecution is a clear indication that you are indeed a true man of God who stands for the truth and is not prepared to share the hands of evil doers.
- They might arrest him, but that does not address what is affecting us.
- We are praying to our living God that Zimbabwe must be saved.
- My message for Pastor Evan: We adore you. We are praying for you. We beleive in your message. We are for justice & equality, both before the law and equal access to national resources and equal opportunities for everyone. Them detaining you and putting you through hell, it only confirms who they really are, selfish repressive and cruel people who have thrown us into the bottomless pit of poverty while they pursue their personal interests over our welfare. They shall reap what they have sown in due season.
- Morning, whatever they are going to do to him we won’t stop fighting for our beloved country, kufa kwemujoni kamba haivharwe Aluta Continua
- The pastor must fear not. Even if the dreamer dies the dream shall live on.
- He should not lose heart he has made a mark as an individual without any resources; which a certain group armed with unlimited resources has failed to do in 36yrs, instead did the opposite. He should know that arresting him vindicates the struggle…aluta continua
- Pastor E we are with you in our prayers #charindab03 #thisflag
- Strength comes from people not from self! Remain forcused son. We are 100%Â percent behind you!
- Our thots are with you Pastor E. God is Watching.
- This issue of arresting and charge innocent ple will never solve the country situation, instead they should ask for ideas frm pastor rather than charging him. How can a man of God plan to cause violence that’s Foolish
- Neither will these persecutions nor harassments will discourage the people of Zimbabwe from fighting for their true citizenry that have since lost lost its lustre the to hardships caused by incompetence and corruption in our community. Our solidarity is in making sure that the truth, justice and accountability prevails for the betterment of our country at all levels. Keep on keeping on!
- Psalm 14:6 The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD will protect his people.
- We doesn’t elect them for corruption, so why is it corruption is their daily meal they must go! We want a better Zimbabwe.
- I say to Pastor fear not. Yu are fyting fr a cause. Yes they may arrest you but issues remain the same and need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. I for one personally behins him. I will pray for him that the works of evil spare him. Like he said before being arrested *”NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST THE RIGHTEOUS WILL HARM HIM”*
- Pastor E you are fighting for the right cause, no incitement of violonce at all, but a call for people to fight for the right standard of living that is being hindered by corruption and ridiculously selfish public administration, there is no better cause than this. Never tire for you have broken new ground and there shall be transformation in Zimbabwe – The Hero of our Flag!
- Pastor E, no man can judge another man for if we look at the judge’s deeds behind closed door people wont believe it because he will be greatest sinner on earth. God has the power to rule over creation, and remember God will not let the devil conquor His chosen ones. You will all find peace and comfort in His arms. From Kudakwashe in Howard
- May the Angels of God break, all the chains and snares, surrounding him, like what, they did to Paul &,Silas (Acts, 16vs26) in Jesus’ name Amen
